The OMA 1st Thursdays art show was an amazing experience! T-Wrecks received honorable mention among an abundance of awe-inspiring creatives. If you have never been to an Orlando Museum of Art 1st Thursday’s event, I highly recommend it. Whether you are an artist just starting out, or an observer, the experience is phenomenal for entry level, local creators and collectors to discover or be discovered. The scope, scale, and sale prices offer any newcomers a chance to get their feet wet before diving in the deep end of, what can be at times, the pretentious art world.

The ambiance of excitement, music, food, and drink, only add to the greatness of this type of gathering. The crowd is refreshingly low key and supportive of the community OMoA has built around the 1st Thursday’s style of show. Practically for the price of two admissions you can become an OMoA member, to not only attend the 1st Thursday’s events, but also the exhibitions presented at the museum.

The process to submit work is simple and affordable. You are notified within a couple weeks as to whether your work is accepted. Once approved the work only need be readied to view, dropped off, and they’ll take care of the rest. The different themes provided monthly, allow for you to engage in a setting that feels comfortable to your interest, or art style. Skill levels of every range are represented, making the work displayed tremendously diverse.

The work I submitted is simply a result of wanting to create a compelling visual and surreal story. A story thought up in my mind that now can become a real-world human experience to share with others. It takes an imaginative, vivid image that once only existed as a thought, and makes it a tangible picture to share with others. I truly enjoy discussing artwork and ideas with others, so I would like to thank all of those who came up to talk about the piece.

I would also like to sincerely thank everyone who came out to show support and enjoy the arts with me. Your presence and patronage mean more than words can express. I hope to see you all again at the next show! If you have any questions, about the work, process, critiques, or want to know more about the show, hit me up! I’ll be happy to help in any way I can. Be sure to pick up your very own print of T-Wrecks in my shop!
